Benjamin Santer at UC Davis

Ben Santer, a climatologist from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory who studies the problem pf quantifying the size of the human effect on global climate will speak at UC Davis on Tuesday, 16 October, 8am-10:30am. Santer, a member of the National Academy, received a MacArthur "genius" grant for his work on assessment reports of the IPCC.

Attendance is free but tickets are required and limited to 100 people. You can register at Eventbrite.

Water and the California Economy

How important is water to California's economy? And how vulnerable is the state's economy to weaknesses in the water system? At this half-day event—coinciding with the release of the new PPIC report Water and the California Economy—participants will examine these questions and discuss priorities for water management.

Climate Change and California's Water Supply

On 15 May 2012, UC Davis will host a conference, Climate Change and California's Water Supply.

The conference, sponsored by the UC Davis Department of Land, Air and Water Resources, Air Quality Research Center, and the CCWAS IGERT, will bring together a wide array of stakeholders to address the challenges facing the state of California posed by predicted changes in climate and concomitant drought conditions.

The conference will include keynote presentations, discussions, and a poster session.
